Whiting Petroleum’s (ticker: WLL) 2016 Annual Report to Shareholders was awarded the Bronze award by the League of American Communications Professionals in its Vision Awards 2016 annual report competition.
“The 2016 competition drew one of the largest number of submissions ever, representing a broad range of industries and organizational sizes,” according to the LACP. “This year’s event was comprised of nearly 1,000 organizations representing upwards of a score of countries, so competition was exceptionally tough,” the LAPC said.
The annual report for Whiting was designed and produced by the EnerCom art department, and the copy was written by Whiting’s investor relations and communications management team with EnerCom. “The EnerCom team took our thematic cues from Whiting,” said EnerCom’s Art Director Lucas Oxoteguy.

The idea for 2016’s theme was that even in the environment of a severe commodity downturn such as the one the industry suffered through for two years, Whiting—and the U.S. oil and gas industry—would rise again, show new life, bring to bear new technologies and move forward. And that’s exactly what has happened.
“Whiting is a resurgent company that has invested in state-of-the-art technology that allows its geophysics teams to analyze its reservoirs at a molecular level, enabling accurate optimization of well completions and the ability to high-grade its assets,” said Aaron Vandeford, EnerCom Managing Director. “Whiting has a sharp focus on driving repeatable and profitable oil growth from its core resource plays in the Williston and DJ basins.”
The Whiting Petroleum 2016 Annual Report scored 96 out of 100 in the LACP judging scale. The EnerCom design consists of a full color cover plus 14 pages of full color feature material with custom photography provided by Whiting.
