Weekly Gas Storage: Inventories decrease by 140 Bcf

Natural Gas Inventories as of January 5, 2024

The EIA has released its natural gas inventory report, showing a net decrease of 140 Bcf as of January 5, 2024.

Working gas in storage was 3,336 Bcf as of Friday, January 5, 2024, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net decrease of 140 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 436 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 348 Bcf above the five-year average of 2,988 Bcf.

At 3,336 Bcf, total working gas is within the five-year historical range.
