Canadian numbers up by nine
This week’s Baker Hughes rig count shows that U.S. numbers declined by eight, resulting in the total count falling to 946. Compared to this time last year, numbers are down 102.
Canada is up compared to last week with a total count of 127, representing an increase of nine rigs. Compared to this time last year, its total is down by 96.
Breakdown by region
Of the regions tracked by Baker Hughes, four experienced an increase in rigs this week:
- Ardmore Woodford is at five, up one from last week.
- Arkoma Woodford is at three, up one from last week.
- DJ-Niobrara is at 29, up two from last week.
- Permian is at 443, up three from last week.
On the other hand, four regions experienced a decrease:
- Eagle Ford is at 66, down one from last week.
- Marcellus is at 56, down two from last week.
- Utica is at 15, down two from last week.
- Williston is at 47, down eight from last week.
All other regions saw no net change in active rig count.
