Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) today announced new and expanded
responsibilities for a current officer and the appointment of a new vice
president within the company’s Electric Operations organization. Barry

PG&E also announced the appointment of Michael Lewis as vice president,
Electric Distribution Operations. Lewis joins PG&E from Duke Energy,
where he was formerly Chief Distribution Officer. Both positions will
report to Pat Hogan, senior vice president, Electric Operations, and are
effective August 1, 2018.
In his new role, Anderson will have responsibility for overseeing the
company’s wildfire prevention and response efforts, longer-term grid
resiliency initiatives; system-wide vegetation management; and emergency
preparedness and response for the company. In Lewis’ new role at PG&E,
he will oversee electric distribution operations across the company’s
70,000 square mile service area.
"These leadership moves not only help bolster our current team, but they
also put the right leaders in the right places to help us deliver
reliable energy to our customers while helping to keep them and their
communities safe. We welcome Michael to PG&E and know that he and Barry
will both bring a safety-first mindset to their new roles," said Geisha
Williams, CEO and President of PG&E Corporation, the parent company of
Pacific Gas and Electric Company.
Anderson joined PG&E in 2011 and was promoted to vice president in 2013.
Since joining PG&E, he has held several roles of increasing
responsibility at the company. Prior to PG&E, Anderson had extensive
experience in many areas of the electric delivery business. He served 28
years at Florida Power & Light Company in various leadership roles of
increasing responsibility. He received a bachelor's degree in Mechanical
Engineering from Michigan State University and an MBA from Nova
Southeastern University. He is a graduate of MIT's Reactor Technology
Course for Utility Executives. Anderson serves on the California
Earthquake Early Warning Advisory Board, appointed by Governor Brown.
Lewis brings extensive electric operations experience to PG&E. Prior to
his most recent position as Duke Energy’s Senior Vice President and
Chief Distribution Officer, Lewis served in increasingly more senior
roles in the electric transmission and distribution including Chief
Transmission Officer at Duke Energy. He holds a bachelor's degree in
