Petrobras – Day Two Breakout Notes

Fernanda Bianchini Egert and Ted Helms, Investor Relations Directors for Petrobras (NYSE: PBR), presented today at EnerCom’s The Oil & Gas Conference 20®.

Petróleo Brasileiro S.A., or Petrobras, is a semi-public Brazilian multinational energy corporation headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The company holds roughly 16 billion barrels of proved oil reserves and is producing more than 2.7 million barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Petrobras is the 28th largest company in the world, according to Fortune, with an enterprise value greater than $130 billion.

During the company’s breakout session, management was asked the following questions:

  • What concerns do you have regarding the currency (reals)?
  • Is your banking division now as large as your oil and gas division?
  • Do you sell 100% of your production to Brazil? How much of your production do you refine domestically?
  • Do you have government pressure to revisit pricing?
  • What are your lifting costs in the pre-salt?
  • Have you been affected by some of your rig contractors filing for restructuring?
  • Do you have more rigs than you need, considering your revised plans?
  • Do you believe your need for subsea equipment has peaked?
  • Does China have any equity interest in your company?
  • Do you have enough refinery capacity to handle the projected increase in volumes over the next few years?
