Navigant Research Broadens Expertise in Utility Digitalization, Grid Modernization, and Distributed Natural Gas

Today, Navigant
Research announced the hiring of three professionals. Stuart Ravens,
principal research analyst, and Adam Forni and Jessica Lewis, senior
research analysts, bring more than 40 years of experience in the
research and analysis field to bolster Navigant Research’s expertise in
a variety of increasingly important subject areas.

Ravens, who is based in London, focuses on utility
IT and data analytics as well as the Internet of Things (IoT),
further expanding Navigant Research’s European presence. Forni brings
knowledge concentrated in the areas of distributed
natural gas and fuel cells, while Lewis will help to broaden
Navigant Research’s offerings in the areas of digitalization and transmission
and distribution modernization.

Stuart
Ravens, Principal Research Analyst – London

Stuart Ravens is a principal research analyst, contributing to Navigant
Research’s Utility
Transformations team. Ravens focuses on utility digitalization,
analyzing topics such as IT, analytics, cybersecurity, and changing
utility business models. He has been an analyst for more than 20 years.
For the past eight years, Ravens’ work has focused on the use of ICT by
utilities. He has played a lead role in the delivery of custom research
and advisory work for many utilities, IT vendors, service providers, and
renewables specialists. As a leading expert in the use of IT in the
energy industry, Ravens has been invited to speak at conferences around
the world. Ravens has also worked as an analyst for financial and
professional services organizations based in London. He holds an MSc in
information science from City University, London.

Adam
Forni, Senior Research Analyst – San Francisco

Adam Forni is a senior research analyst contributing to Navigant
Research’s Energy
Technologies program, with a focus on distributed natural gas. Forni
has broad technical experience covering electrical systems, mechanical
systems, energy efficiency, and financial modeling. Prior to Navigant
Research, Forni performed renewable energy consulting for Fortune 500
clients, managing engagements resulting in more than two billion dollars
in new revenue. He has also served as a program manager at Bloom Energy,
where he managed a $100 million fuel cell portfolio for Home Depot and
microgrid projects for Apple, Yahoo!, and Disney. In 2013, Forni was
named a recipient of Consulting-Specifying Engineer’s 40 Under 40 awards
for building professionals under the age of 40. The same year, he
received the American Council of Engineering Companies’ Award of
Excellence. Forni holds an MBA from the University of California, Irvine
and a BS in mechanical engineering from Valparaiso University.

Jessica
Lewis, Senior Research Analyst – Washington, D.C.

Jessica Lewis is a senior research analyst, contributing to Navigant
Research’s Utility
Transformations team, with a primary focus on grid modernization.
Lewis previously spent three years with Navigant Consulting, working
with the Department of Energy to support the development,
implementation, and evaluation of strategic energy programs. Prior to
joining Navigant, Lewis worked to advance market-based solutions to
rural electrification in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, and provided
energy, environmental, and business strategy consulting to Fortune 100
companies. Lewis holds an MA in international economics & energy,
resources, and the environment from the Johns Hopkins University School
of Advanced International Studies and a BA from Pomona College.
