YANGON, Myanmar, July 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Bringing its commitment to help improving the water supply and sanitation in Myanmar, a drinking water facility was officially set in motion as part of MyanmarWater's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.
MyanmarWater, in great collaboration with Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC) and Myanmar Engineering Society (MES) put up a water technology tower facility at Seikkyi Kanaungto School located at Seikkyi Kanaungto Township. The tower facility can produce an average of 600 gallons of safe drinking water per hour.
"We have been experiencing water scarcity and this donation of a drinking water facility is such a great help to us, especially to the students in their journey to achieve their education and have a bright future. On behalf of our 2,000 students and teachers, I deeply thank UBM -- the organiser of MyanmarWater, and its partners Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC) and Myanmar Engineering Society (MES) for initiating this CSR program," as emphasized by Mrs. Maw Maw Khaing, Principal of Seikkyi Kanaungto School.
During her Opening Remarks, Ms. Eliane van Doorn, Business Development Director of UBM highlighted, "We are very happy to finally launch this CSR Program here in Myanmar. With our series of Water Events across Southeast Asia including Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand and Myanmar, we will strive to continuously make a positive difference to the lives of the people in different communities."
The MyanmarWater CSR Program is part of ASIAWATER Responsible Business Alliance (AWRBA) - an alliance with a mission to bring clean, safe drinking water and sanitation to the underprivileged population residing in underdeveloped countries in the region.
