Intuit and Just Energy Launch a Corporate Renewable Energy Program for Texas Residents

PLANO, Texas

Intuit
Inc.
 (Nasdaq:INTU), maker of TurboTax,
QuickBooks, ProConnect and
Mint, has announced a new program, Purely Green, that will share its
corporate wind power procurement in Texas with commercial and
residential customers. Intuit has teamed up with retail energy provider,
Just Energy (NYSE:JE) (TSX:JE) to launch the plan.

Purely Green, which will be unveiled this week just ahead of Earth Day,
is designed to offer discounted renewable electricity to hundreds of
thousands of electricity customers across Texas. The renewable energy
and renewable energy credits will be sourced from EDP Renewables’ (EDPR)
Lone Star II Wind Farm located near Abilene, TX.

Houston-based Renewable Power Direct (RPD), a national green energy
marketer, worked with Intuit and Just Energy to structure the program
and to source the physical wind power from EDPR.

“Purely Green addresses two issues that are deeply important to us – our
mission for powering prosperity for customers and being good stewards of
the environment,” said Cece Morken, Executive Vice President and General
Manager, Strategic Partnerships at Intuit. “We want the community where
we live and work to have the same opportunity we do.”

“This program enables Texas residents to leverage Intuit’s buying power
to access discounted green power for their homes and businesses,” says
Sean Kinghorn, Sustainability program lead for Intuit.

“Just Energy is happy to offer a product that allows Texas residents and
small businesses a premium green energy solution at a price competitive
with fossil-fuel based power. We are pleased to be part of this
innovative and socially responsible program,” said Jim Brown, CFO, Just
Energy.

“This program is a game changer for Texas electricity customers,” said
Eric Alam, CEO of RPD. “Thanks to Intuit’s leadership, we expect other
large companies that buy wind and solar energy to begin exploring how
best to share and leverage their green energy choices for customers and
employees. This could significantly boost future demand for renewable
energy and greatly expand the climate benefits of corporate green power
programs. We’re very excited to be a part of this initiative.”

Interested Texas residents can learn more and sign up for Purely Green
at http://www.justenergy.com/intuit.
Additionally, Intuit and Just Energy will be exhibiting at the EarthX
Expo from April 20-22 in Fair Park, Dallas, Texas. Visit Booth 1172 to
learn more about the program and sign up.
