Together they formed GTO Technology to focus on the hundreds of millions of dollars at stake through their conformance control. Dr. Fleckenstein speaks about their technology and GTO’s progress from a $5.7 million grant to accelerate their progress.
GTO Technologies is a Colorado School of Mines startup that is dedicated to creating and commercializing technologies required to make baseload carbon-free electricity a reality. GTO Technologies is developing technologies that allow conformance control to greatly improve Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) thermal decline and economics. This allows the construction, and most importantly, the control of massive subsurface heat exchangers that change the economics of geothermal. We provide the same benefits as fusion, but not 25 years in the future.
