EnerNex Closes out a Strong 2016 with High Achievements in the Electric Power Industry

Company Surpasses 12 Gigawatts in Renewable Energy Projects; 500 Million
Smart Meters Deployed in Grid Modernization Projects

EnerNex,
an electric power research, engineering and consulting firm,
announced they have surpassed 12 gigawatts (GW) on renewable energy
development projects.

In working with two of the three largest wind farm owners in North
America, EnerNex has seen an uptick in major wind energy development
projects in the U.S., reflecting its continued leadership and commitment
to technological innovation and renewable energy advancement.

"This milestone is a proud accomplishment for EnerNex. Our involvement
with project developers and operators dates back to the earliest days of
our company. The outlook for renewables remains bright, owing to ever
more favorable economics in the face of rising uncertainties in the
electric power industry,” said Bob
Zavadil
, EnerNex co-founder and EVP. “We look forward to maintaining
and growing our activities in the renewable project development space as
we foresee a continued vibrant demand for clean energy.”

The firm has also worked on deployment projects for over half a billion
smart meters worldwide. In 2016, the EnerNex team worked on projects
that will install an additional 40 million meters. Looking ahead to
pending projects for 2017, the EnerNex team will touch another 20
million meters.

In addition, EnerNex completed Smart Grid Roadmaps for entities
servicing more than 1.2 billion people. The firm’s approach to Smart
Grid Roadmap development follows a proven, industry-standard approach:
providing the utility with a set of prioritized and time-phased grid
modernization initiatives unique to its business strategy and objectives.

“We’ve had the privilege of working with several of the largest
utilities across the country to develop holistic, requirements-based,
business value-driven grid modernization roadmaps – building on and
leveraging existing applications and infrastructure wherever possible,
and incorporating industry standards to ensure reliability,
interoperability, flexibility, and reduced cost and risk,” said Doug
Houseman
, Vice President of Innovation and Technology.

EnerNex Staff Accolades:

  • Aaron
    Snyder
, Director of Technology Services, was appointed a member of

functions quickly if disruptive incidents occur.

    In
addition, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
named Houseman a liaison to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in an
effort to spur collaboration in addressing grid modernization
    challenges.
