EnerCom’s 2017 Conference Day Two Breakout Notes: WildHorse Resource Development

WildHorse Breakout Notes

Drew Cozby, CFO of WildHorse Resource Development, (ticker: WRD) presented today at EnerCom’s The Oil & Gas Conference® 22.

WildHorse Resource Development has its operations in the Eagle Ford, in Texas, and in the Cotton Valley, in Louisiana. For the Eagle Ford, the company is the second largest acreage holder in the region. In 2017, WildHorse drilled three wells for step-out tests in its Cotton Valley assets.

In its Q2, 2017 earnings call WildHorse reported second quarter production of approximately 22,600 BOEPD—which was 28% higher than its average production in Q1, 2017. It achieved a net income of $25.9 million. The company brought 18 gross, (17.4 net) wells online in its Eagle Ford acreage, one gross (1.0 net) well online in the Austin Chalk, and two gross (1.1 net) wells in north Louisiana.

During the company’s breakout session, management was asked the following questions:

  • What’s the timing of your Gen Four completions design?
  • What would cause your North Louisiana cycle times to compress?
  • What are the cost of your wells?
  • Are we going to see a Gen Seven fracture design?
  • What type of production do you need to reach in North Louisiana to see free cash flow there?
  • You mentioned other operators dropping their proppant loads, do you see that in Gen Four designs?
  • You self-source sand directly from mines, correct?
  • Will you subscribe to all three takeaway options you mentioned in your presentation?
  • Do you see an increase in drilling rates in either of your areas?
  • Could you take about your communications with Range and what they’re doing with completions in North Louisiana?
