Crescent Point Energy is an oil and gas producer based in Calgary, Alberta, and Denver, Colorado. A large part of their strategy is to actively acquire high-quality, large pools of oil with plenty of long-term upside, then develop and exploit. They have concentrated in the area of southern Saskatchewan, but have also built dominant positions in the Bakken and Shauanavon resource plays. They are also involved in the emerging plays of the Uinta Basin and Torquay play on border of America and Canada.

Moving forward, a top priority is to continue to develop and expand the waterflood program, which has been implemented in all of their major Canadian fields. The gains from successful waterfloods have been significant, leading the company to initiate the first waterflood program in the Uinta Basin in 2015. A 5% increase in the recovery factor could result in an additional one billion barrels of oil reserves, and this can be obtained by the waterflood program.
