BGE Named Among ‘Most Trusted Utility Brands' by Market Strategies International

BALTIMORE

BGE was recently announced as the nation's top-ranked energy company in
brand trust by business customers and among the most trusted residential
electric and natural gas utility brands among residential customers, as
surveyed in its annual Utility Trusted Brand & Customer Engagement™:
Business and Residential, two Cogent Reports™ studies by Market
Strategies International.

The designation recognizes utilities for building strong customer
engagement through service satisfaction, product experience and brand
trust. BGE’s performance in local outreach efforts, customer advocacy,
environmental focus, effectiveness in communication and qualitative
reliability led to the company’s business customer brand trust score of
795, the highest among all combined (gas and electric) utilities in the
United States.

BGE's brand trust index residential score of 702 was among the top ten
energy companies in the East region.

“BGE is honored to have earned the trust of our customers through our
commitment to reliable service, excellent customer care and innovation
in the marketplace,” said Calvin G. Butler Jr., chief executive officer
for BGE. “We will continue to emphasize transparency, collaboration and
fiscal responsibility as we work to build cleaner and brighter futures
for our customers and communities across central Maryland.”

BGE has been investing in new technologies, maintaining financial
discipline and delivering innovative digital tools and energy efficiency
programs that allow customers to take more control of their energy usage.

The company has also been continuously improving service reliability
over the last several years. In 2017, BGE electric customers experienced
the fewest outages on record and when outages did occur, BGE restored
power faster than at most times in the company’s 202-year history. While
outages are caused by a wide range of factors including weather, BGE is
focused on reducing the potential for outages through investment in
infrastructure upgrades, enhanced maintenance and innovative programs.

BGE is part of the Exelon family of utilities, which include Atlantic
City Electric, ComEd, Delmarva Power, PECO and Pepco that share best
practices to deliver a premier customer experience.

BGE,
founded in 1816 as the nation’s first gas utility, is Maryland’s largest
natural gas and electric utility. Headquartered in Baltimore, BGE
delivers power to more than 1.25 million electric customers and more
than 650,000 natural gas customers in central Maryland. The company’s
approximately 3,200 employees are committed to the safe and reliable
delivery of natural gas and electricity, as well as enhanced energy
management, conservation, environmental stewardship and community
assistance. The company also has an estimated annual economic impact of
$5 billion of output in its service area, supporting more than 9,500
local jobs and producing $923 million in labor income. BGE is a
subsidiary of Exelon Corporation (NYSE: EXC), the nation’s leading
competitive energy provider. Like us on
