This week’s Baker Hughes rig count shows that U.S. numbers declined by 5, resulting in the total count falling to 817 rigs. Canada decreased over last week as well by 2 rigs, resulting in a total Canadian count of 140 rigs.
Breakdown by region
Of the regions tracked by Baker Hughes, only one region saw an increase; the Cana Woodford basin saw an increase of 1 rig this week, from 28 to 29.
Meanwhile, 3 regions experienced a decrease this week:
- The Eagle Ford is at 60, down 3 from last week.
- The Permian is at 412, down 4 from last week.
- The Williston is at 52, down 1 from last week.
All other regions saw no net change in the active rig count.
