Ambient Water Joins Innovative Agricultural Technology Companies at Launch Event of Bioenterprise BC
SPOKANE, WA--(Marketwired - March 10, 2016) -
Ambient Water
(OTCQB: AWGI), a leading provider of atmospheric water generation systems for extracting water from humidity in the air, today commented on its attendance at the launch event for Bioenterprise BC, hosted by BW GLOBAL Structures Inc. on February 26. Bioenterprise BC is a non-profit business accelerator helping agriculture and biology based companies grow through strategic funding.
The Ministry of Agriculture, through the BC Innovation Council, recently agreed to disburse $200,000 per year over four years from the Agriculture Science and Innovation Fund to establish Bioenterprise BC. These funds will allow Bioenterprise BC to support the commercialization of innovations in agriculture and help raise agri-food revenue throughout the region.
Ambient Water has worked with BW GLOBAL Structures Inc. to develop closed-loop greenhouse structures for commercial use. The 12x24 greenhouses have complete climate control and water production, allowing for food growth within a week of assembly. The structures are currently in testing phase, and are built to ensure climate control and water production regardless of outside weather conditions. A video highlighting the technology can be viewed on the Company's YouTube channel.
"We were honored for the opportunity to attend the kickoff event for Bioenterprise BC, and to do so with our development partner BW GLOBAL Structures Inc. It's very exciting that the province of British Columbia has committed these resources to provide a boost to companies within the region looking to commercialize technologies that could make a difference to many people," said Keith White, CEO, Ambient Water. "Food and water shortages are a real problem in communities across the entire planet. Through our work with BW GLOBAL Structures Inc. we aim to provide a sustainable solution that can put a stop to hunger and water scarcity issues, no matter the climate or location throughout the world."
A global need exists for vertical farming applications as a solution to agricultural woes in harsh climate environments and urban areas, as well as an alternative option to traditional farming methods where water scarcity issues persist. The current agricultural model is incredibly water intensive -- 80 percent of California's total water use alone is from farmers -- and is also susceptible to weather during natural growing seasons. Turnkey vertical farming solutions such as those built by Ambient Water and BW GLOBAL Structures Inc. will provide a sustainable agricultural solution, no matter location or climate, allowing for year round production.
Ambient Water's patented atmospheric water generation technology literally makes water out of thin air, transforming humidity into an abundant source of clean water near the point of use. With multiple systems already commercially available or in development, the Company's technology produces clean and fresh water for a host of commercial industries, including oil and gas exploration and farming, while also providing fresh drinking water for homes, offices, and communities.
