Weekly Gas Storage: 81 Bcf Build

Natural Gas Inventories as of July 5, 2019

The EIA has released its natural gas inventory report, showing a build of 81 Bcf as of July 5.

Working gas in storage was 2,471 Bcf as of Friday, July 5, 2019, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net increase of 81 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 275 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 142 Bcf below the five-year average of 2,613 Bcf.

At 2,471 Bcf, total working gas is within the five-year historical range.

All regions experienced a net increase this week, however the South Central salt count declined by two. Stocks in every region are below the five-year average. Gas in storage in the Mountain region is the farthest below the five-year average for the area, at 15.2% below the average.
