Sunfinity Renewable Energy responds to U.S. solar industry's proposed automated permitting initiative

DALLAS, Sept. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Solar Energy Industry Association (SEIA), working with the Solar Foundation, has just announced plans to create a nationally standardized, expedited program to streamline permitting and inspections for solar installations, saving the average homeowner thousands on the cost of a new solar system and ultimately contributing to more robust adoption of solar power.

"We support SEIA for this bold, proactive action to help both homeowners and the industry," said John Billingsley, Chairman and CEO of Sunfinity Renewable Energy. "It's obviously an enormous undertaking, requiring the support and cooperation of all of us, working to make the industry the best it can be.

"As a rapidly growing provider of residential, commercial and utility-scale solar actively expanding into new markets, I can tell you first-hand that the confusion of varied regulations from state to state is a significant hurdle for us, and it doesn't serve potential customers," Billingsley added. "We know there is a better, 21st century way to accomplish this part of the process and speed the availability of quality solar to a much broader audience."
