(Simmons) is pleased to announce the addition of Ryan Todd and Blake
Fernandez as senior research analysts within energy equity research.

Todd was hired as a senior research analyst and head of exploration and
production (E&P) research. He will be based in the firm’s New York
office. Based in Houston, Fernandez was hired as a senior research
analyst covering refining and integrated oil companies.

Todd joins Simmons with 13 years of equity research experience in the
energy sector. Prior to joining the firm, Todd worked as a sell-side
analyst at both Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley, where he covered E&P,
integrated oils and U.S. refineries. Todd has been recognized as an Institutional
Investor All-America Research Team Rising Star, a top sector analyst
by Bloomberg Markets and as a “Best on the Street” analyst by The
Wall Street Journal. He previously worked for ExxonMobil as a senior
project engineer. Todd graduated magna cum laude from Brigham
Young University with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.

Prior to joining Simmons, Fernandez worked as a director and senior
equity research analyst at Scotia Howard Weil in the integrated oils,
independent refiners and macro energy spaces. Prior to Scotia Howard
Weil, Fernandez was a financial analyst at Capital One and Hibernia
National Bank. He joins Piper Jaffray with over 12 years of equity
research experience. Fernandez earned a Master of Business
Administration degree from the University of New Orleans in finance and
a bachelor’s degree in economics from E.J. Ourso College of Business at
Louisiana State University.
