Texas crude oil production beats all but OPEC’s three largest producers
Information from the American Petroleum Institute (API) shows that Texas produces more dry natural gas than any OPEC nation. On a global scale, the only country that beat dry gas production in Texas was Russia, which was ranked second in natural gas production behind the United States as a whole.
Crude oil production from the Lone Star State also outstripped most countries ranked in the API data, placing the state 8th in overall global production. The 3,140 MBOPD being produced by Texas was only surpassed by OPEC’s three largest producers, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Iran, and other major oil producing countries like Russia, China and Canada.
